HAPORI RESIDENCY

A creative, spiritual, and self-sustaining way of living… shared for a season

There’s a different way to live, and most people only ever experience it briefly.

Slower mornings, more space, and a deeper connection to how your days actually feel.

Hapori is a residency just outside San Miguel de Allende where you come live for a while, not as a guest, but as part of a small, evolving community. You bring your routines, your work, your creativity, and your questions with you, and something begins to shift simply by being in a different environment.

Some people come for a one or two month reset. Others come to test what it would feel like to live in an intentional community before making bigger decisions. And some are simply ready for something different, even if they can’t fully explain why.

A Different Way to Live

This isn’t a retreat.

There’s nothing to follow, no schedule to keep, and no expectation of who you need to be here. Instead, a small group of people live alongside each other, each doing their own thing while naturally sharing parts of life along the way.

Your days take on a different rhythm. Mornings might begin slowly with coffee, birds, and quiet, or a walk through the labyrinth. Some days are focused and productive. Others are open, reflective, or creative. You can spend time on your own or connect with others at the common house. Both are part of the experience, and you get to choose your balance.

CREATIVE, SPIRITUAL, SUSTAINABLE

There are three natural threads that run through life at Hapori, and you’re free to explore one or all of them.

Creatively, you’re just minutes from one of the most vibrant art cities in the world. San Miguel is filled with galleries, workshops, and artists from around the globe. At Hapori, there is also space to create, whether that’s writing, painting, building, or reconnecting with something you haven’t done in years. There is a place to do art  and access to classes in town if you want more structure.

Spiritually, there is an openness here that people feel right away. With a temazcal on site and access to sound baths, drum circles, and plant medicine experiences nearby, you can explore as much or as little as you like. Nothing is pushed, but the resources are here when you want them.

From a sustainability perspective, Hapori is fully off grid with solar energy, rainwater collection, and evolving gardens. There are people here and nearby who understand permaculture and self-sustaining systems, and you can learn as much as you want or simply enjoy being surrounded by it.

Learn Or Simply Live

There are people in and around Hapori who have spent years building off grid systems, permaculture gardens, and intentional communities.

If you’re curious, you can learn directly from that experience. If you’re not, you can simply live your life here and let it exist in the background. There is no pressure to engage in any particular way.

At the same time, you are not on your own in figuring things out. If you want recommendations for restaurants, galleries, art classes, Spanish lessons, Pilates, or deeper spiritual experiences, we can point you in the right direction. You create your own experience, but you are supported in doing it.

The Best of Both Worlds

Hapori sits just 15 minutes outside San Miguel de Allende, a city consistently named one of the best small cities in the world.

This gives you a rare balance. You can spend your mornings in nature, walking the land, sitting by the biopool, or working quietly from home. And within minutes, you can be in town enjoying incredible food, exploring galleries, taking a class, or meeting friends.

There is a shared car available, making it easy to move between the calm of Hapori and the energy of San Miguel whenever you want. That contrast is part of what makes this lifestyle so compelling.

The Setting

Hapori is a small eco village with both private space and shared areas.  There’s a common house for meals and gathering, open land, gardens, a labyrinth, and places to sit, walk, or be on your own.

  • Common house for shared meals and conversation

Who This is for

IMG

This tends to draw people who feel ready for something different.

You might be wanting a reset, curious about intentional community, exploring a more creative or spiritual side of yourself, or interested in sustainable living. You may also simply want to experience a different pace of life for a while.

You don’t need to have a clear plan. You just need a sense that where you are isn’t the full picture.

How it Works

Hapori is set up as a residency rather than a hosted experience.

You book a home and live here for a season. There is a light shared rhythm, such as a weekly meal or time together, but nothing is structured or required.

Most people stay one to two months, with the option to stay longer if it feels aligned.

DETAILS

Homes are available at different price points:

Casa Labryinth: $1350 per month (2 bed/2 full bath)

Casa Milpa: $950 (2 bed/1 full bath)

Casita Webb:  $900 (studio – King/full bath/kitchen)

Each home can be shared, or lived in solo or as a couple.

This creates a surprisingly accessible way to live in a place like this, without long term commitment, while experiencing a different way of living.

A Final Thought

Some people come here to reset something in their life. Some come to explore. And some come and realize this way of living feels closer to what they’ve been looking for all along.

For a few, it even becomes the beginning of something bigger.

Either way, it’s an opportunity to step into a different rhythm for a while and see what unfolds.
